Download Festival 2011 Thrash Hits

Yeah baby! The Thrash Hits Download Festival splash page is back! All of our Download Festival 2011 coverage from the weekend is going be linked to from this here page, so give it a bookmark or just don’t close it, because it’s all you’re going to need. Individual band coverage (interviews, photos, setlists and some tiny reviews), rumours and gossip, drinking games, stage times, dodgy photos of as many sexy ladies in various states of safe-for-work undress as we can legitimately get away with? It’s all here.

We’re going to be getting up to all of our usual tricks, so expect all of the best rumours and gossip from the festival –  Thrash Hits dares publish the scandals that other websites shy away from in fear. You can get the stage times and stuff here. Although, if you’re on a computer and not already here at the festival, I don’t know why you’d possibly want them.

Gossip?!

  • Was it really Wes Scantlin from Puddle of Mudd who heckled “fuck off!” when Jared Leto went to collect an award at the 2011 Kerrang! Awards on Thursday? He denied it when we interrogated him earlier.
  • Some bands try to instigate a stage invasion at the end of their set – but not letlive. They had a stage invasion and a fight with security before they’d even finished the intro of their first song.
  • Phil Anselmo knows where it’s at – not only did he make time to watch Ghost from the side of the stage earlier in the day, but he made sure to pick up one of their t-shirts to wear during his own set with Down later. Hero!
  • Taylor Momsen doesn’t wear a bra. Cool.
  • We just heard that Kvelertak are going on tour with Trap Them, Doomriders, Toxic Holocaust and Wolves Like Us in the autumn of 2011. Dreams can come true!
  • The newest members of Funeral for a Friend struggle to use an umbrella in the wind. They then struggle to fix broken umbrellas in the wind. Reasonable.
  • The Thrash Hits Gazebo blew away in the storm. Sucks to be a gazebo at Donington.
